Seddon was appointed by Solihull Council to build and design a luxury 80-bed care home in Shirley, Solihull with a contract sum of £8.3m.
Seddon has transformed the former well known Shirley Aquatics site into a luxury 80-bed care home that will provide residential and dementia care for older people in and around the Solihull community.
Both the ground and first floor have been designed and structured with the comfort of the residents in mind. The first floor has been designed to suit residents with dementia, with the use of personalised ‘home’ boxes and specific colour schemes.
The Seddon project team arranged an event where they invited the surrounding local residents to come along and be introduced to the project site team. This turned out to be a huge success as the local residents left feeling like they knew the scheme in full detail and were able to raise any concerns they may have had in relation to the build.
Opening Weekend was on the 9th and 10th of November 2019. Barchester held an opening weekend to show off their brand new marketing suite to the potential residents from the local area. The marketing suite included a spacious dining area, multiple lounges, sample resident rooms and an assisted spa bathroom.
Feedback was very positive and Barchester were very pleased with how the team delivered and worked together to ensure the opening weekend went ahead.
