The existing Grade-II Listed Victorian Mansion was refurbished into a hub for music services. The halls refurbishment included both internal and external works to bring it back into use.
External works included the removal and replacement of the existing windows with modern units stylised to match the originals, extensive patchwork to the bricks, and the replacement of the roof coverings to match the original materials.
Internal works comprised of the removal of non-origional partition walls, new stud walling, renewal of existing features such as moulded painted accents, new mechanical and electrical fittings including a new toilet and staff room area.
The refurbishment of the hall forms part of the school expansion programme within Bolton. Ladybridge High School required the Music Service to be able to vacate their current space within the school in late 2018 to enable the school’s own expansion works to be completed.
The works have allowed this historic building to continue to be used by the local community and schools. The music service currently teacher 8000 children a week to play instruments and learn more about music. Along side this choirs and orchestras will be allowed to use this space daily to rehearse and preform.
