Towards the end of construction, our painting team went onto the site to complete the painting and decorating in the Grade II listed building.
It was vitally important on this project that feature ceilings, panelling and historic detailing was retained. All the existing features were cleaned and carefully reconditioned showing the true beauty of the buildings original attributes.
In one of the rooms (seen in image 6) the client wanted to keep the original feature ceiling that had been hand-painted in the 1920s. However one of the ceiling panels had been damaged over time, our team overcame this by taking digital images of existing panels and having vinyl paper printed to match the design so they could carefully replace the feature ceiling that was there.
All internal timber panelling had to be brought up to Class O fire rating. Envirograph was used by the team, which is a flame retardant paint to ensure the panelling was brought up to standard.
The client wanted to keep all of the ornate covings and features as original as possible, so these were carefully hand-painted by the team.
We liaised closely with the client to ensure everything was as they wanted.
