The scheme is for the demolition of single-storey extensions to a former public house, Fairview Inn, Abergele, the works also include the remodelling and refurbishment into a six-person four-bedroom house and the design and construction of newbuild housing.
The construction on the new-build properties started in August 2020 and will design and build 24, one and two-bedroom apartments over three and 2.5 storeys with associated car parking and ancillary facilities. Start on site was delayed due to service diversions. The contract period is 52-weeks, but due to delay in commencement, the new contract period is 56-weeks.
The site is located at the corner of Abergele Road and Station Road in Abergele, North Wales.
Works include:

- substructures
- Standard strip foundations with some pad foundations
- services (including drainage)
- external works (timber-frame construction)
Currently, the foundations and substructures have commenced. Key challenges to date include retaining wall, structural works and underpinning to the existing house.

Week 1 - site strip/grub up the car park
Week 2 - form car park area to the north-west corner of the site for welfare cabins
Week 3 - infrastructure (road and sewers)
Week 4 - compound set up
Week 7 - demolition works to pub including soft strip, foundations commence
Week 13 - substructures commence
Week 24 - S278 works commence
