The replacement of two passenger lifts including alterations to floor plate layouts to suit re-handing of lifts over seven floors and the creation of new lift lobbies across the floors.
Phase one commenced in January 2020 and completed in July 2020, with the building remaining in operation throughout. Phase two of the project commenced in June 2020 and completed in September 2020. The works were completed to the existing lift space to replace and upgrade the lift.
Challenges
During phase one, the works were all delivered over night with the floors being handed back over to the cleaning staff at 7am every morning which allowed them to deep clean the floors before the arrival of the students and staff.
Works to level seven of the building also included moving the communications cabin, leaving the users on this floor with no data, whilst the move was made. Our site team managed the move impeccably,
ensuring clear communication of timescales and providing updates throughout.
As all works were completed during lockdown due to COVID19, the Seddon team worked vigilantly to ensure social distancing rules and hygiene guidance was adhered to, at all times.
