DWP Eastbank House Department of Work & Pensions (DWP)

£435K Contract Value
13 Duration (Weeks)

As part of the Department for Work Pensions framework, Seddon was appointed to undertake refurbishment works at Eastbank House in Southport. These works were allocated further to the successful delivery of similar projects at DWP Ilkeston and DWP Wigan.

The main elements of works included roof replacement and boiler upgrade. Significant engagement was undertaken with our in-house M&E business and our selected roofing contractor to ensure design proposals and specifications were in line with DWP’s aspirations.
Existing lightning protection was required to be tested, stripped and set aside during the works, then re-installed allowing for new fixings and retested upon completion.

The boiler replacement works involved a mixture of new and retained elements. Significant coordination, testing and commissioning took place to ensure a smooth handover.

A key criteria for the project was to ensure the building remained secure throughout and there was minimal disruption to the operational running of the centre. Our team worked collaboratively with the client and building stakeholder to ensure we had a full understanding of the building users and operational times. We ensured our proposed programme and methodology was communicated and agreed prior to start on site.

Our proposals required a footpath closure during part of the contract. This was carefully planned with the local Council to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

Following completion a Customer Satisfaction Review Seddon achieved a score of 100%.
