The Co-operative food store in Normoss Road has taken the place of the former Booths store which closed last August.
As part of the Co-operative Group’s four-year programme to deliver an acquisitions programme, Seddon were appointed to reconfigure and fit-out the former Booths retail store on Normoss Road in Blackpool. Works included a cash dispensing machine and bakery.
The store is pioneering a new role, known as a community pioneer, where a member of the food store team will work to foster involvement in community activities, from local fundraising initiatives to helping to understand and develop solutions to meet community needs.
Working within a residential area we ensured that any potential disruption was kept to a minimum by reducing our working hours to 8-4pm daily. This ensured that we maintained a positive relationship for the Co-op with the local community.
Upon completion, Blackpool’s town crier Barry McQueen and pupils from the local Staining Primary School were on hand to officially open the new store.
