A high rise property located in Baguley, South Manchester containing 94 flats over 16 storeys.
Works were undertaken within occupied premises and included replacing the soil and vent pipes with new ones. These were run into the same soil pipe ducts and through existing apertures within the compartment floors.
Other works comprised of removal of temporary walls between bathrooms and risers to gain access to the risers in four locations and worked around existing flat services to one location.
We also carried out the installation of sprinklers, suspended ceilings to the communal area including adjustment to existing services including the fire alarm detector heads and other building upgrading works including fire stopping.
Asbestos removal was undertaken prior to Seddon starting on-site and a clearance certificate was issued prior to opening a riser. A full fire detection alarm system was also installed.
This was a challenging project as the properties were all fully occupied and there were vulnerable residents, therefore the level of intrusive and disruptive works was monitored at all times.
