Seddon was appointed to undertake the design and build of a six storey, 80-bed hotel with car park and external works.
The works comprised of piled foundations ground floor slab, structural steel with traditional construction, transfer slab to first floor and timber frame to remaining levels.
The six-storey hotel is constructed on piled foundations with the ground to first floor in steel frame and with one in-situ concrete transfer slab at first floor level.
Above is a five-storey timber frame clad with brick and blockwork elevations complimented by feature cladding and render.
Internally, the hotel is fitted out to Travelodge’s latest specification. Each bedroom utilises the latest design in bathroom pods from Walker Modular Limited. This ensures a quality and speed of installation far superior to traditional on-site methods.
Greater efficiencies in the off-site production of the pods also reduces the project’s carbon footprint in terms of waste and reduced transportation of components.
The site is based in Bolton’s busy town centre, adjacent to Trinity Retail Park, commercial offices and a busy dual carriageway.
Site logistics were carefully planned and agreed prior to commencement to minimise any impact to the local roads and businesses. Delivery times were carefully arranged for specific slots to ensure that there was no additional congestion as a result of our works.
