The project entitled Flat Roofing Works to West Wing and Library Balcony is to renovate the existing waterproof coatings to provide continued weather protection to the flat roof areas of these buildings.
The works to the West Wing block included the refurbishment to the whole flat roof comprising of an overcoating system with a 20 year guarantee period.
The existing weighting solar PV was carefully removed and sorted during the works to allow better access to the roof surface and was reinstalled upon completion.
To allow for unrestricted future access to the roof a new counterbalanced handrail was installed to the perimeter.
The works to the Library Balcony comprised of the removal of existing waterproof coatings and insulation to allow for the installation of new cut to falls insulation and suitable waterproof coatings.
Existing timber decking and seating on the balcony was removed and disposed of during the works.
