This distinctive building is a self-contained site within Derby city centre. All students based here have access to library facilities, the Union of Students’ Blends cafe and specialist training facilities.
Friar Gate Square is used to house courses on law, criminology, policing and social sciences. Seddon completed the refurbishment of the existing building to create a more interactive learning environment.
Replica trial rooms, a legal advice centre and a custody suite were created to allow for real-world opportunity to learn and develop knowledge and practical skills.
Works included the complete decoration of each space to reflect the real-life product they are mimicking.
This also involved new flooring, joiner work to create court benches, holding areas and also break out areas for students to use to study and relax between lessons.
The University’s website has a virtual tour which allows for a more dynamic look at these spaces.
