As part of the Whitbread Framework and successful completion of an extension, refurbishment and fit-out project at the Premier Inn in Oldham, Seddon was awarded the contract for an extension to the chain’s Chester hotel.
The project comprised a 10 bedroom extension comprising of reinforced foundations, beam and block floor to the ground floor and a structural timber frame, clad in brickwork and rendered blockwork to match the existing Premier Inn. The roof is pitched and tiled.
Works also include some external parking and internal reception refurbishments.
The site is located just off a busy route into Chester with local shops, businesses and residents nearby, requiring careful logistics and planning to ensure no disruption as a result of our works.
Our welfare facilities including cabins and parking were located off the highway within the Premier Inn boundaries.
Our site team ensured that the site maintained a high level of housekeeping, with clear signage, neat hoardings and a very tidy site.
Specific attention was given to noise, dust and working hours to ensure no nuisance was created for the hotel or adjacent restaurant and was monitored daily by the site manager.
The site team held an open-door policy for the hotel staff, as well as holding daily meetings to coordinate planned activities and ensure disruption was minimised at peak times.
