This project is a 53,000 sq ft. new build retail development, with new public square and on-site car parking, anchored by Mark and Spencer Simply Food and Boots.
Following the sale of the site by Cordatus Real Estate, on behalf of HSBC Bank and Price Waterhouse Coopers, K4 Architects have been retained by the new owners to deliver this prestigious project. The 3 acre site has been unoccupied for a number of years but the scheme is finally going ahead, some 10 years after the development was first conceived.
Mulberry Walk is set to become a key local destination for shopping, leisure, food and drink. Demolition works have commenced and the site will be clear within a few weeks, ready for the main contractor to take possession and start construction, which completed in January 2017. Old Oscott based Coleman are carrying out the demolition works and Seddon Construction have been appointed as the main contractor.
Mere Green is located 2 miles north of Sutton Coldfield and 10 miles to the northeast of Birmingham. Mulberry Walk will have prominent, dual retail frontages being at the junction of Lichfield Road and Mere Green Road. The development is adjacent to a large Sainsbury's Superstore and close to a Waitrose unit.
