Seddon successfully completed internal and external painting and redecoration works to a live, operational college including classrooms, corridors, staircases, dining area, hall and welfare areas to the agreed programme and budget. Seddon’s directly employed in-house experienced, qualified painting operatives to successfully complete the works to client satisfaction.
Kirklees College was founded in 2008 as part of a merger between Dewsbury College and Huddersfield Technical College. The college is entrenched in the heart of West Yorkshire and boasts nine bespoke centres across the Kirklees region, from two main centres based in Dewsbury and Huddersfield.
Seddon’s painting department has worked closely with Kirklees College on various projects of different sizes and complexity over the last 5 years.
Due to the nature of the operational environment, works were undertaken during the term breaks as a priority and weekends during term time where necessary. Programming and zero defects were critical an important part of the contract. Prior to contract start, Seddon worked with the college to suggest suitable coatings and to match Pantone colours that were part of the college’s branding, working closely with suppliers to match every colour exactly as these were not standard.
One particular building was the Taylor Hill Centre, which is an Animal Care Centre where we were required to work in a live environment. After sitting down with the client and agreeing a programme of works, the works were successfully delivered without any incidents. We ensured that all painters were DBS checked due to the nature of the environment. All notice boards/pictures were removed and re-fitted following decoration.
