Overview
Last year, our Supply Chain attended eight meet the buyer events which reached over 2000 people. The purpose of these events is to allow sub-contractors and suppliers to speak to large contractors face to face and demonstrate their offerings, network, and to understand the buyers’ requirements. In attendance at these events are buyers, supply chain managers and quantity surveyors from all sides of the business who can advocate for their individual needs. These events are particularly good at reaching potential supply chain in areas we have had no previous work, continuously expanding our network and services.
One success story from these events is meeting Total Demolition, a demolition contractor offering expert services across the UK at one of our events. During the event, we were able to develop and build a relationship with them, subsequently leading to our team offering Total Demolition the opportunity to bid to carry out demolition services at a college in Manchester. Following the success of their bid, they were appointed as the Demolition contractor, displaying their capability with precision and professionalism on site. They have now completed this work, and have continued to maintain and develop our relationship since. In the words of Neil Critchely, Estimating Manager, formerly Lead QS on the project, was extremely pleased with the services and the communication that Total Demolition provided, “I would definitely work with Total Demolition again, they did a great job on Xaverian so would be considered for future projects.”
In May 2023, we had the pleasure of meeting the Seddon team at the Constructionline event. This initial meeting served as a valuable opportunity to connect, discuss capabilities, and explore potential areas of collaboration.
Following the event, a strong line of communication was established between our teams. This enabled us to tender for a variety of projects with Seddon and laid the foundation for a promising working relationship.
One of the key milestones in our partnership was our involvement in the Xaverian College project during the summer of 2024. The project was a testament to exceptional coordination and mutual respect between both teams. From planning through to execution, the collaboration was seamless, and the results spoke for themselves. The professionalism and teamwork displayed throughout the project reinforced our confidence in the partnership.
We are now actively tendering for multiple Seddon projects across the UK. This nationwide engagement reflects the strength of our growing relationship and our shared commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
We’re excited about the future and the opportunities that lie ahead. With a strong foundation in place, we look forward to working with Seddon on many more successful projects across the country.” on the process of attending a meet the buyer event to eventually working for us on a large project.
