SEDDON CITB CLUB

CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) is a part of the Department of Education and is the official training board for the UK construction industry. CITB Club is a support group, established by Seddon in collaboration with CITB, to provide supply chain partners with ongoing up-to-date support regarding recruitment, training and grant applications.

The aim of the club is to close the skills gap in construction and create a more sustainable industry. CITB Club successfully achieves this by:

• Providing help with the recruitment of apprentices. 
• Assisting with upskilling teams.
• Connecting Seddon’s supply chain to CITB and the 
resources available.

The benefits of Seddon’s CITB Club to supply chain partners have been significant and have included:
• Enabling partners to attract the right people into roles.
• Connecting partners to CITB to ensure they obtain the correct level of funding available for their business. 
• Ensuring partner’s workforces have the correct qualifications for their roles.
• Helping to build relationships with a sustainable training provider. 
• Sharing knowledge and good practice with other businesses. 
• Enabling partners to put all of the right ‘people’ plans in place to protect the future of their business. 

Since the launch of Seddon CITB Club in October 2022, our supply chain partners have received a staggering £74,000 in grants from CITB. In addition, we have also enabled partners to break down barriers to training and employment by:
• Supplying over 100 supply chain partners with information regarding employment, training and funding opportunities through CITB.
• Successfully connecting 12 supply chain partners with CITB for further support/access to training and funding.
• Successfully securing 7 new apprentices/trainees placements with supply chain partners
