GREATER MANCHESTER GOOD EMPLOYMENT CHARTER

Raising Standards of Employment

Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter is a voluntary membership and assessment scheme, which aims to raise the standards within employment to benefit people, society, and the economy in Greater Manchester.

Seddon have been proud supporters and members of the Good Employment Charter since May 2022 and were honoured to be awarded ‘Large Supporter of the Year’ at the Good Employment Charter Awards later that year.

Seddon are strong believers that people make places. Our people are very important to us, as the success of our business and projects are determined by our teams. In a sector often associated with extreme stress and poor employment practices, Seddon strive to provide mental health initiatives for our people and are committed to investing in our employees and their continued career development, from early careers right through to senior leadership. We offer schemes such as apprenticeships, higher degree apprenticeships, the Seddon Graduate programme and other professional training.

Ultimately, our family values underpin everything we do, with every employee and team sharing the same mindset. It is crucial that our employees feel a sense of wellbeing and belonging, which in turn has a positive impact on our customers, supply chain, and most importantly, our people.

With the aim to share best practice and to help shape organisations in the right direction, Seddon hosted an Explore Day in Bolton for Good Employment Charter visitors from local VCSE and MSMEs. Seddon facilitated a tour of our headquarters and presented sessions to explore our approach to employee benefits, health and well-being, and social value.
