EDUCATION & TRAINING: PERFORMANCE ELECTRICAL LIMITED (PEL)

Dedication to apprenticeships

Seddon’s continued dedication to apprenticeships extends beyond our own company to also include our supply chain. We strongly feel that supply chain collaboration has the potential to unlock solutions for some of today’s most pressing business challenges, especially in terms of recruitment. As a result, in 2022, we launched the CITB Club, a support group established by Seddon in collaboration with CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) to provide supply chain partners with ongoing up-to-date support regarding recruitment, training, grant applications and specifically support in the recruitment and training of apprentices.

On 20th March 2023, supply chain partners, who are part of the CITB Club, were invited to the Seddon Apprentice Recruitment Open Day at the University of Bolton Stadium. This full day event provided the opportunity for people to hear more about careers in construction and the apprentice roles available at Seddon and through our local supply chain partners. The impact of the event was immense. Over four hundred people attended and over six hundred people applied. As a direct result of the recruitment event, one of those applicants, Bryn, successfully secured an electrical apprenticeship with our supply chain partner, PEL having previously dedicated the last four years of his career to the Armed Forces. Seddon is particularly proud to support the UK Armed Forces Community. We recognise the multitude of transferable skills that veterans are able to bring to the construction industry due to the extensive training they receive and diversity of their experience. We wish Bryn, who is pictured in the centre of the photograph alongside Directors of both Seddon and PEL, the best of luck within his new role.
