Painting & Maintenance completed minor internal refurbishment and decoration works to a supported accommodation facility for people who are experiencing homelessness and alcohol dependency. The accommodation includes three types of accommodation, including flats which is staffed 24 hours a day.
Great Places required works to modernise and refresh their office and reception areas. Two painters and a joiner from our in-direct workforce carried out the works which included the full overhaul of the ground floor, re-decoration of the offices, fitting in new furniture and upgrading the security screens. Flooring was fitted by Winton Flooring, a long-standing subcontractor who has worked on numerous projects over the years.
Careful Consideration
Works were carefully coordinated to ensure minimal disruption to the live, operational building. We maintained open and active communication with staff, providing information about any updates and progress. Wet signs were displayed to communicate the need for caution and presence of wet paint to prevent any accidents.
Environmental Impact
Seddon take great care and extra caution in relation to the environment and the team made sure empty paint tins were collected and sent back to the local depot to be recycled. Any waste procured was disposed of safely at our own waste transfer station, CIRCLE Recycling.
The team also adopt the use of water-based paints which are significantly less harmful to the environment compared to solvent-based paints.
Seddon understand the importance of doing whatever we can to reduce our carbon footprint. During this project, the team promotes the use of van sharing combined with local labour to reduce our carbon emissions.
Outcomes & Benefits
Great Places and the staff at the accommodation were extremely pleased with the smooth operation from our team. The project was completed on time and within budget, allowing staff to enjoy their refurbished office.
