The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) asked Seddon to undertake strip out and fit out works to an existing shopping unit to become a DWP assessment centre in the heart of Burnley.
Seddon have a longstanding relationship with DWP after completing 20+ projects on their behalf. These range from office blocks to DWP assessment centres.
Works were carried out through a two stage process, as this project represented a significant scheme as part of the programme of works undertaken for DWP throughout 2021.
The project was procured through a two stage process which enabled the assessment of the existing structure during the design phase, which allowed us to make positive adjustments to the programme.
The project was completed on time and within the DWP budget perimeters. Upon completion there were zero RIDDORS on site and the project was snag free. A collaborative approach was adopted and regular site meetings took place throughout between us, DWP and McBains to ensure the programme and budget was being met.
Throughout the works we had to meet the standard operating procedures set out by DWP which included COVID clauses, we successfully aligned to the procedures, to deliver DWPs COVID secure assessment centre.
