Painting & Maintenance have carried out external painting and repairs to 93 vicarages primarily across West and North Yorkshire.
The areas we covered are:

• Wakefield
• Burnley
• Skipton
• Dales
• Bradford
A team of six in-house painters carried out external repairs and painting to fascia boards and gutters with two joiners from our supply chain installing new doors. Three vicarages required internal decoration to the ceilings, walls, woodwork and stripping of wallpaper.
The team used Dulux products throughout the contract at the client’s request. A representative of Dulux would visit the site at random to check and send a report to the client. The report would mention the quality of work and if it’s meeting the correct specification of the products.
Stakeholder Engagement
The team have worked with the Diocese since 2022, and we have developed an excellent relationship over the years.
Discussions were conducted through monthly meetings with Ross Tolmie-Loverseed, a property
manager at the Diocese. These meetings allowed the team to provide updates on the progress of their work alongside the programme, and voice any issues and concerns in an open and honest manner.
Challenges
As the majority of works were external, progress was stopped during heavy rain and strong winds, where works were not possible or deemed unsafe.
However, the team still managed to complete the project on time and within budget despite the bad weather.
Outcomes and Benefits
The vicarages have now had a complete external refresh, extending the life of building components by keeping them protected from harsh weather conditions.
