Customer engagement
Seddon communicate daily with Onward, and document all progress via a Seddon designed dedicated app. Each job completed has an individual ‘Jotform’ which stakeholders can access at anytime for updates.
In addition to this Seddon Painting & Maintenance held a team collaboration day at the Marriot Worsley with Onward, to review current practices and procedures. This collaborative event provided the two teams to communicate openly and honestly, resulting in the stronger relationships and shared ideas.
Material Specification
When working with damp and mould, product specification is key to prevent further reoccurrence. Onward Homes selected a specific product to use throughout their homes, a product by Bactdet & Halophane, called RLT BACTDET 05. Using this product eradicates the mould, stopping it from spreading to other areas and clean the surfaces.
Challenges
Education and empathy must be at the forefront of our minds when working in these live environments. Tackling damp and mould is about more than just fixing buildings – it’s about improving lives. When we put residents at the heart of our approach, we’re not just solving immediate problems; we’re empowering people to maintain healthier homes and futures for themselves and in some circumstances their children
Social Value
Seddon understand the importance of supporting the community through a variety of ways. Throughout this scheme, the Painting & Maintenance team have donated £2000 worth of painting supplies to The Avenues and Hollins Community Centre in Oldham. The centre is an important facility for the community, providing initiatives such as parent-toddler groups, English classes, art and craft activities and school holiday provision.
The team also participated in volunteering, totalling 160 hours dedicating their time to revitalise the community centre.
