Painting & Maintenance have carried out externaldecoration and repairs to 28 vicarages across Sheffield and Barnsley.
Two in-house painters carried out external repairs and painting to carry out pre-paint repairs, window splicing and repairs to the resin on frames.
The team used Dulux weathershield products throughout the contract at the client’s request. A representative of Dulux would visit the site at random to check and send a report to the client. The report would mention the quality of work and if it’s meeting the correct specification of the products.
Stakeholder Engagement
The team have worked with the Diocese since 2023, and we have developed an excellent relationship over these years.
Discussions were conducted through monthly meetings with the property manager at the Diocese. These meetings allowed the team to provide updates on the progress of their work alongside the programme, and voice any issues and concerns in an open and honest manner.
Challenges
Due to the nature of works, progress had to be halted during bad weather such as heavy rain and strong winds, where works were not possible or deemed unsafe.
Despite having to wait for the bad weather to subside, we still managed to complete the project on time and within budget.
Sustainability
Seddon take great care and extra caution in relation to the environment. The team made sure empty paint tins were collected and sent to Dulux who send the tins to be processed at the Veolia Recovery Facility. The tins are then recycled and turned into new products, promoting circularity.
Outcomes and Benefits
The vicarages have now had a complete external refresh, extending the life of building components by keeping them protected from harsh weather conditions.
