This new build housing scheme for Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council was awarded to Seddon through the Homes England DPP3 Developer Framework (Midlands). The 10nr semi-detached houses were constructed on a former school site in Oldbury.Works comprised of the construction of 2nr 4 bed and 8nr 2 bed houses:
• Site strip with cut and fill
• Piles under the foot print of the dwellings
• Reinforced strip foundations with beam and block ground floors
• Masonry load bearing cavity walls, tiled pitched roofs, plastered and decorated finishes internally, kitchens and bathrooms, UPVC windows and doors
• Mechanical and electrical installations Front and rear landscaped gardens, fencing and gates
• Highways works including pavement crossovers and re-surfacing and sewers
• Car parking
• Drainage
• Masonry and sheet pile retaining walls and
• Incoming services, utilities and service diversions
Procurement: Subcontractors were procured from our ‘One List’ of approved and vetted specialists. The subcontractors have been appointed previously to ensure familiarity with the Seddon processes and procedures. Early engagement for all Subcontractors allowed maximum communication and sufficient lead times to secure materials and labour as required.
